INTRODUCTION
Meet Ben and Natalie, two middle-aged insomniacs trying to escape the world. Natalie is a frustrated writer whose life has just imploded, and Ben is a reclusive widower and misanthrope. When they discover they are the only two people staying at the mostly abandoned Eagle Lake Resort, neither one is very happy about it.
Their initial introduction is anything but a meet cute; instead, they fight over firewood — the first of many confrontations.
But as the summer unfolds, Natalie and Ben grow closer, and it isn’t long before they spend all their time together. But with closeness comes vulnerability, and for two people so badly scarred, that is one trail neither of them cares to blaze.
When a misunderstanding threatens to drive them apart, they both come face to face with all the things they’ve kept pushed down for so long.
Secondary Feathers is a story about healing and connection, reminding us that sometimes, the right person can lift us higher than we ever imagined.
