Maybe "man spreading" is a poor descriptor, but I think the message of "don't be afraid to occupy the space you're in," is a good one. Trying to make yourself small, or trying to disappear doesn't inspire confidence. (Unless, of course, you see "that" person in the grocery store-- you know, that person you'd much rather avoid.)
