I am 64 and so much of what you wrote resonated with me. I recently heard a woman our age say that she hated the expression, "Youth is wasted on the young," because when we're young, we're SUPPOSED to try different things, fail, get up, try again, put on different hats, experiment, etc. And yes, like you say at the end of your article, that's what it's all about - learning from mistakes and using the experience to better ourselves.
