So, how do you feel about ghosts? Are you a believer? And, if so, have you had any personal experience with them?

I’m on the fence regarding spectres and spirits, but that’s not to say my mind isn’t wide open. Mainly because of something that happened when I was thirteen. In a basement. With an Ouija board.

But before I retell that story, let’s consider the plausibility of ghosts, hauntings, and whatnot. If you think about the science, why wouldn’t ghosts be “a thing?” All matter and psychological workings, meaning our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and attitudes, are all composed of energy. If you think about that in terms of our human body, every atom, cell, tissue, and molecule is composed of energy. That, in turn, creates a human energy field.

OK, fair enough, but what about after someone dies? What happens to that energy field then? Does it simply vanish… POOF… into thin air? Until recently, consciousness was believed to die when your physical body does. Still, after so many anecdotal testimonies of people “being conscious” after being declared clinically dead, science is finding the whole thing a bit of a head-scratcher.
